COLOMBIA, Medellín, Banco del Progreso, 20 pesos, 29-3-1898, serial 407, unique, PMG F 12, finest and only example in PMG census. DP-unl; Pick-unl. A unique rarity, this Banco del Progreso 20 pesos apparently saw circulation for some time before being saved, leading to this opportunity to acquire a note which went undocumented for a very long time. The design, printed locally in Medellín, is a bit crude yet legible with clear red-inked date and signature. Several ink stamps are located on both sides including a black Departamento de Antioquia stamp. A few stain spots are seen along with an internal tear at bottom center yet are understandable given its circulation. Pedigreed to the J. Cuartas Collection (stated on label).
