COLOMBIA, Bogotá, Banco de Bogotá, 10 pesos remainder, (1880), series A, serial 02001, very rare, PMG VF 30, finest and only example in PMG census, Compendio Histórico del Papel Moneda en Colombia Plate Note. DP-6306; Pick-S293r. Four POCs. The Banco de Bogotá 10 pesos is a great rarity due to numerous examples being overprinted in late 1899 to be reissued as provisional Banco Nacional notes. This clean example, while holed for cancellation, shows boldly inked vignettes of a waterfall at left and Francisco José de Caldas to the right. A mildly handled note with some minor tears in the left margin and a faded ink stamp at lower right on the face. This is the only example recorded to date for this denomination and series to be used during the existence of the Banco de Bogotá. Plated on page 453 of Compendio Histórico del Papel Moneda en Colombia (2014), by Danilo Parra Ariza.
