CHILE, Santiago, Banco de Escobar, Ossa y Ca., 5 pesos remainder, no date (1887), serial 01391, PMG VF 20, finest and only example in PMG census. Pick-S253r. Only remainders are known for this private bank that had 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 pesos denominations printed by the ABNCo. Nice bold design of a mining scene as the central vignette flanked by Justice and a reclining woman at lower left and right, respectively. A single penned signature is at lower right while the date and other signature line are blank. Some minor damage is noted in the lower right corner along with a few paper pulls on the back from prior mounting.
