MEXICO, Culiacán, cap-and-rays 8 reales, 1847 CE, very rare, NGC AU details / cleaned. KM-377.3; DP-Cn02. As Dunigan-Parker notes, this second year of issue is "rare and by far the most difficult date to obtain from this mint. It is one of those coins that has not been properly recognized and turns up missing in even the most advanced collections." Lustrous example with some hairlines but fairly well-detailed eagle and cap showing full LIBERTAD, typical minor weakness in legends.
