ITALIAN STATES, Milan (under Spain), 1 filippo, Charles II, 1676, NGC MS 63, "top pop." Olivares-Type 2/278; MIR-387; Crippa-3; Dav-4005; KM-92. 27.84 grams. 43 mm. Attractively toned with traces of rainbow colors near edge, broad-flan issue with sharp hair and armor detail on young bust of Charles II with date below, sharply detailed crowned arms on reverse, nearly complete legends despite a small natural lacuna on edge, exceptional grade (currently tied with four others in the NGC census).
