COLOMBIA, Bogotá, 8 reales, 1839 RS, NGC AU 58, ex-Millennia, ex-Toulemonde. Restrepo-194.1; KM-98. A lovely example of the "culebrilla" design with light but vivid rainbow toning over lustrous surfaces, typically incomplete rims, choice grade (originally MS 60 when it was sold in 2008), with desirable pedigree. Pedigreed to the Gregorio Toulemonde Collection (stated on label, Sedwick Auction 34, lot 1173) and to the Millennia Collection (Goldberg auction of May 2008, lot 1032).
