MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 8 reales, Charles II, assayer not visible, odd shape due to natural bubble-hole, ex-Joanna (1682). KM-46; Cal-Type 108. 25.98 grams. Large, squarish flan turned into an oddity by a big and crude bubble hole at edge, a good bit of cross and shield in centers but peripheries flat, practically no corrosion (F details), lightly toned. From the Joanna (1682), pedigreed to the Steve Valentine Collection, with collector tag M-S2-65 ("Venom").
