Medium-sized bronze signal cannon (mortar), Spanish colonial (1500s-1600s). 3.7 lb. 3½" tall, 2½" diameter. Short, crude, flat-bottomed cannon used to send up signals or to test powder, this one with a small touch-hole near the bottom and light-green patina all over.
