Large lead sounding weight, ex-1715 Fleet. 15 lb. 10" long, 3" diameter at base. Very heavy, solid lead weight with six sides, big loop at top, large hole (not just a depression) in the bottom where wax was placed to take sand samples at the same time (the hole now filled with a big oyster shell), wonderfully white and encrusted all over. From the 1715 Fleet, pedigreed to Sedwick Auction 6 (lot 1746).
