^Lot 1514 HONDURAS, Tegucigalpa, Banco de Honduras, 5 lempiras, 5-3-1941, series B, serial 039264, with 25-5-1

HONDURAS, Tegucigalpa, Banco de Honduras, 5 lempiras, 5-3-1941, series B, serial 039264, with 25-5-1948 green overprint on back. Pick-42b. Similar to the prior lot, this 1941-dated 5 lempiras features a large bull's head vignette across the back. However, this note also features the green 1948-dated overprint on the back, a considerably rare type. This about Very Fine note was once laminated and has some paper pulls across the back, and a central split is also repaired with tape. Though with some problems, this Honduras rarity is difficult to acquire in any condition and we can account for no major auction appearances over the past decade.
