UNITED STATES, San Francisco mint, Trade dollar, 1877-S, raised and retained lamination flap error, PCGS XF40, ex-Busto. Slabbed with the reverse facing out to the show off the ¼" lamination flap sticking up across TRADE at 7 o'clock, its retention miraculous considering the circulation this Trade dollar encountered. Otherwise quite bold with some minor circulation chatter in the fields, plentiful luster but very little toning. Pedigreed to the José Busto Collection.
