MEXICO, Mexico City, gold bust 4 escudos, Charles IV, 1797 FM, PCGS AU50, finest known in PCGS census, ex-August, ex-Shipley. Cal-1492; KM-144; Fr-44. Nice luster for the assigned grade, with areas of bright red toning here and there, minor rim-flaw at 3 o'clock on reverse. Pedigreed to the Richard August Collection (Stack's Bowers auction of August 2025, lot 41329) and the Jim Shipley Collection.
