Late issue of Edward III’s iconic noble coinage, struck during England’s ascendancy in the Hundred Years’ War following the Treaty of Brétigny. The obverse depicts the king standing in a ship, emblematic of naval dominance, while the reverse shows the intricate floriated cross, a hallmark of the series. The cross potent mintmark identifies it as a later, more refined phase of production.
