Obverse with young bust of king within tulip border inside typical coin legend; reverse with crowned arms of Santiago (lion in shield between Pillars of Hercules), burning heart between AM-AT at bottom, legend AUGUSTIS . IMPERAT . IUSIURAND.S.P . Q . CHL. An exceptional example with lovely old toning over lustrous surfaces with minimal handling marks, surely the finest known. Pedigreed to the Tomás Prieto Collection (stated on label) and the Val y Mexía Collection, also plated in Medallas de la História de España (2018), by Juan Claudio de Ramo?n, Isabel Rodri?guez Casanova, and Alberto J.
