COLOMBIA, Bogotá, gold cob 2 escudos, 1635, assayer A below mintmark NR to left, NGC MS 62 / Mesuno Hoard. ANUN-4; Restrepo-M50.13; S-B20; Cal-1791; KM-4.1; Fr-2. 6.68 grams. Broad flan with choice full date outside of full but off-center cross, bold full mintmark N•R above assayer A to left of full shield, just slightly doubled all over, very lustrous and bright, currently second finest in NGC census behind a single MS 64. From the "Mesuno Hoard" (ca. 1636).
