SPAIN, Seville, gold 1 escudo, Charles-Joanna, assayer * to right, mintmark S to left, mounted cross-side out in 18K gold pendant with fixed bail. 6.08 grams total. Interesting setting with two gold cross bars on reverse concealing some of the shield side, but more important, a full cross and much legend on the obverse, four prongs attached north-south-east-west, a split fixed bail, and double high-karat gold wire bezel wrapped around the coin.
