DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, Santiago de los Caballeros, República Dominicana, 5 pesos fuertes, 30-5-1864, series D, serial 18021, very rare, PMG Choice F 15. Rudman-unl; Pick-unl. This amazing Dominican Republic rarity is sure to attract attention as it is not documented in either the Rudman or Pick catalogs. The printed design, while a little weak along the top border, is otherwise bold, as are the penned signatures and serial number. The large green stamp at center is a bit obscured due to excessive inking, which apparently caught the stamper off-guard as a partial fingerprint is seen just above and to the right! A few minor stains are noted on this fairly circulated note with a few pinholes also mentioned for completeness.
