PERU, Cuzco, silver medal, dated 1825, Simón Bolívar / Liberation of Cuzco, NGC AU 55. Fonrobert-9205. 42 mm. Obverse: uniformed bust of Bolívar with the legend around reading SIMON BOLIVAR LIBr. DE COLOMB. Y DEL PERU; Reverse: native sitting in front of Incan ruins, radiant sun to left, legend EL CUZCO A SU LIBERATOR above, date 1825 between laurels. Nice, handsomely toned example of this popular medal with well-detailed bust of Bolívar and scene on back, richly toned with some dark blue hues and lighter tones, light wear on the high points and with just a few small contact marks on the front.
