BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales Royal (galano), 1630 T, cross-fleury ornaments, unique, NGC XF details / plugged, holed. S-P26; KM-R19a; Cal-1379. 26.73 grams. Broad flan with 100% full details including distinctive cross-fleury ornaments above and below assayer and denomination, between D and G in obverse legend, and at top on cross side, among several different dies known for this (effectively) "first date" of Potosí galanos (resulting from a minting reform of 1626), in fact not a die-match with any in Lázaro (similar to his 93), who notes that all examples are unique or nearly so, richly toned all over, with crudely plugged hole at bottom of shield / left of cross, attempted hole and tiny triangular hole at opposite end, left side of obverse a bit doubled.
