MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 2 reales, 1688 (L), extremely rare, PCGS VF details / cleaned, finest and only example in PCGS census. S-M21; KM-unl (34 for type); Cal-unl (Type 71). 5.90 grams. Long, narrow flan with some cross but only the top-left part of shield and crown due to off-center strike that enables a very full and bold 688 of the date, nicely toned all over, one of only two examples known to us.
