SPAIN, Burgos, gold 1 escudo, Charles-Joanna, crescent to left, circlet to right of shield, mintmark B below cross, rare, NGC AU details / damaged, cleaned. Cal-175; Fr-157. 3.34 grams. Finely detailed full shield and cross-and-tressure with a good bit of legend visible (mix of Gothic and Latin lettering), nearly full crown, a bit bright from cleaning and with stray marks and minor damage on edge (also one natural edge-split) but high grade nevertheless for this rare early type. (Note: The label says 1506-16 in error; it should say 1546-56.).
