^Lot 2069 FRANCE, mint uncertain, half ecu, Louis XIV, 1704, struck over a half ecu of 1701.

FRANCE, mint uncertain, half ecu, Louis XIV, 1704, struck over a half ecu of 1701. 13.49 grams. Broad-flan XF+ with traces of luster and light toning (strong blue color on reverse), interestingly re-struck with obverse and reverse switched, so that the 1701 date appears on the new obverse (the 1704 date clear on reverse), but both mintmarks lost to the interference of the old and new details.
