Large bronze signal cannon (mortar), Spanish colonial (1500s-1600s). 3629 grams. 4½" tall x 3¾" in diameter. Heavy, darkly patinated cannon, used either to send up signals or to test powder, with intact touch-hole near bottom, several thick horizontal rings around top, middle, and bottom.
