Megalodon (giant shark) tooth, Miocene epoch, approx. 15 to 5 million years old, found off the Atlantic coast of the United States. 213 grams. 4½" x 3". Very light gray tooth from Carcharocles megalodon (meaning "big tooth"), an extinct species of giant shark, with most of enamel intact, sharp serrated edges, and light brown root.
