Megalodon (giant shark) tooth, Miocene epoch, approx. 15 to 5 million years old, found off the Atlantic coast of the United States. 215 grams. 4½" x 3¾". Nicely preserved fossilized tooth from Carcharocles megalodon (meaning "big tooth"), an extinct species of giant shark, with medium-gray satiny enamel and complete serrated edges, dark gray matte root.
