BYZANTINE EMPIRE, Constantinople, AV solidus, Constantine VII and Romanus II, ca. 945-963 AD. Sear 1751. 4.44 grams. Bust of Christ facing, wearing nimbus cruciger, raising right hand in benediction, book of Gospels cradled in left arm / Crowned facing busts of Constantine II (on left) and Romanus (on right), jointly holding patriarchal cross with globular terminus between them. Lovely, full-flan AU with rich details and lustrous toning.
