GREAT BRITAIN, copper alloy Admiral Vernon medal, 1739, Vernon / Porto Bello, ex-Adams. AC-PBv29Z. 15.25 grams. 38 mm. XF+ with muted luster on satin-smooth fields, olive-brass color. XRF: 56.28% copper, 40.34% zinc, 2.25% lead. Pedigreed to the John Adams Collection (with his handwritten tag) and to the Herbert I. Melnick auction of February 1983 (lot 1203).
