PERU, Lima, gold bust 1 escudo, Charles IV, 1793 IJ, large bust, NGC VF details / cleaned, ex-Almenara. Cal-1085; Fr-43; KM-89. Broad flan with full rims, nice red toning around details but also some encrustation on reverse, the bust a bit weak and with hairlines, minor lamination flaws in front of face, a distinctively oversized bust unique to this mint for this and the previous year, oddly singled out in Calicó only for this denomination. Pedigreed to the Almenara Collection (stated on label).
