BOLIVIA, Potosí, gold bust 1 escudo, Charles IV transitional (bust of Charles III, ordinal IV), 1789 PR, very rare, NGC UNC details / cleaned, finest and only example in NGC census, ex-Almenara. Janson-75.1; Cal-1173; Fr-9; KM-65. Sharp details with good luster but oddly crude rims, light surface hairlines in field in front of face, mintage unknown but undoubtedly very small. Pedigreed to the Almenara Collection (stated on label).
