MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 8 reales, (1714) (J), new-style shield, old-style cross, encrusted with fragment of another coin (as found). S-M22; KM-47; Cal-1401. 28.49 grams total. Large flan with four points, much peripheral flatness but good inner details, the cross well centered but the shield shifted up and right, patchy toning with some surface corrosion among patches of white and brown encrustation in addition to the silver fragment adhering below the shield, pretty neat. Recovered from: Spanish 1715 Fleet, sunk off the east coast of Florida
