BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, Philip IV, assayer not visible (1640s), NGC VF details / sea salvaged (Shipwreck Blue Label), ex-Sotheby's. KM-19a; Cal-Type 327. 18.48 grams. Solid flan with no more than moderate corrosion (probably was underweight to begin with), somewhat double-struck and off-center shield and cross, bold PHI_LIPVS (separated by the doubling), toned all over. Pedigreed to the Sotheby's (London) auction of December 2000 (lot 584), with Sedwick certificate from 2002. Recovered from: "San Francisco Wreck," sunk ca. 1647 off the Cape Verde Islands, west of Africa
