GREAT BRITAIN, copper alloy Admiral Vernon medal, 1739, Vernon and Lezo / Porto Bello, ex-Adams, ex-Chao, ex-Ferrari. AC-PBvl9M. 10.73 grams. 38 mm. Dark but very sharp UNC with nicely dentillated rims (just a few dentils missing, as made); XRF: 48.59% copper, 47.49% zinc, 2.90% lead. Pedigreed to the John Adams Collection (with his handwritten tag) and to the Fernando Chao and Jorge Ferrari Collections.
