BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales Royal (galano), 1658 E, NGC XF details / holed. Ex-Espinola. S-P37a; KM-R21; Cal-1423. 26.47 grams. Broad flan with 100% full and well-struck details, rich old toning all over, quite lovely like most Royals of this period, typically holed at top of pillars / bottom of cross (as the coin is in almost perfect coin alignment), die-match with Lázaro 157 (rated R2) but even clearer than his example, to the extent that you can see that both the mintmarks on the pillars side have strange bottom-left extensions, perhaps related to the known error on this year's Royal 8R with mintmark and assayer transposed.
