Very broad flan with nearly full legends and choice full interiors (no doubling or flatness, also well centered) despite light surface corrosion, otherwise AU+, toned in crevices. Pedigreed to the Luis R. Ponte Collection, plated on page 99 of Mastalir's The Great Transition at the Potosí Mint 1649-1653: The 1652 Transitional 8 Reales (2015), also shown on page 2 of the American Numismatic Society Summer 1988 Newsletter advertising the upcoming landmark Coinage of the Americas Conference of 1988 (eventually dubbed The Coinage of El Peru).
