Medium-sized bronze signal cannon (mortar) with lion's head ornament, Spanish colonial (1500s-1600s). 1750 grams. 3-1/2" tall, 2-3/4" in diameter. Interesting lion's head embellishment near square touch-hole at bottom, typical turned-ring design and crude manufacture, dark brown patina.
