Scarce motto variety, VF with bold full interior details (no doubling or flatness), most of legend including bold king's name, darkly toned fields for good contrast, expertly plugged tiny hole at top of shield (hole was present when auctioned in 1988), desirable pedigree. Pedigreed to the Luis R. Ponte Collection and to the Sellschopp Collection (Swiss Bank Corp. auction of September 1988, lot 8).
