Small iron cannonball "grenade," ex-1715 Fleet. 1532 grams; 3" diameter. Rare piece, well conserved, with a hole on its surface apparently for holding a flammable cloth which would be lit on fire before being shot, presumably to burn sails and rigging. It was reportedly displayed in a small shipwreck museum in St Augustine, Florida, prior to 2000. From the 1715 Fleet, with Sedwick certificate from 2000, pedigreed to the Mike Carulli Collection.
