Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, 1684 V+VR (V on pillars side, VR on cross side), very rare. S-P40; KM-unl (26 for type); Cal-unl. 26.60 grams. The rarer counterpart to the previous lot, with bold V to left of pillars and clear top of VR to right cross, the pillars and cross full but with much flatness throughout, otherwise VF. Pedigreed to Ponterio auction 95 of August 1998 (lot 779).
