Great Britain, copper alloy Admiral Vernon medal, 1739, Vernon / Porto Bello, ex-Adams. AC-PBv26V. 14.27 grams; 38 mm. Dark AU with some original luster on fields, an interesting contrast with the preceding lot in silver (same variety). XRF: 41.13% copper, 51.54% zinc, 5.51% lead. Pedigreed to the John Adams Collection (with his handwritten tag).
