Popayan, Colombia, 2 reales, 1880, fineness 0.835/0.900, rare anachronistic denomination. Restrepo-277.1: KM-162. 4.65 grams. Officially Colombia's final 2 reales, issued some 22 years after the next-latest 2 reales, reworked from 1862/48 dies, and one of the last coins ever struck at the Popayan mint. Bold VF with toning and black sediment around details, crude rims (as made), with over-punchings visible throughout except for the overdate, an interesting and desirable issue.
