Seville, Spain, gold 1 escudo, Charles-Joanna, assayer Gothic D to right, mintmark S to left, NGC MS 64 ("top pop"). Cal-198; Fr-153. 3.35 grams. Choice, crisp details in full and well-centered shield and cross (the latter with interesting die-polish lines in fields), fair amount of legend and nearly full crown, much luster, tied with one other for top grade in NGC census for this mintmark-assayer arrangement.
