Mexico City, Mexico, 2 reales, Charles-Joanna, "Late Series," assayer G to right, mintmark oM to left (oM-G), rare, NGC VF details / bent. Nesmith-53b; Cal-93; S-M5; KM-12. 6.71 grams. Nesmith noted only one example of this variety, perhaps this very coin since Hubbard's envelope has what is probably Nesmith's handwriting on it, this type (oM-G, CAROLVS, 2 reales) not common anyway, the coin itself with porosity and scratches, small part of edge bent, the legends and interiors mostly visible. Pedigreed to the Clyde Hubbard Collection of Mexican Charles-Joanna Coinage (stated on label). Accompanied by original tag or holder.
