Small bronze signaling cannon or working model, 1700s-1800s (?). 2743 grams, 13" long. Like its much larger brethren, this compact cannon has all the working parts in miniature and is attractively patinated, in excellent (displayable) condition. The larger type of this cannon would have been mounted by yoke to the rail of a ship and aimed with tillers during close combat or for signaling purposes.
