Great Britain, copper alloy Admiral Vernon medal, 1739, Vernon / Porto Bello, ex-Adams. AC-PBv13K; Betts-unl. 12.38 grams, 40 mm. Dark Fine with slightly grainy surfaces as struck on a cast planchet, more copper content than usual. XRF: 64.88% copper, 23.57% zinc, 9.45% lead. Pedigreed to the John Adams Collection (with his handwritten tag).
