Great Britain, small copper alloy Admiral Vernon medal, Vernon / Porto Bello, 1739, ex-Adams, ex-Chao, ex-Ferrari. AC-PBv16M. 27 mm, 5.37 grams. VF+ with traces of rust and verdigris, Vernon's nose typically flat, with dull brassy color due to higher than normal levels of zinc and tin. XRF: 58.25% copper, 37.27% zinc, 2.73% tin, 1.34% lead. Pedigreed to the John Adams Collection (with his handwritten tag), the Fernando Chao Collection and the Jorge Ferrari Collection.
